Part-time Special Events Workers

Arkansas State University - Mountain Home seeks qualified individuals for four part-time Special Events Workers at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center.  The Special Events Worker operates under the direct supervision of the Facility Manager and is responsible for the operation of  the ticket box office, sound and lighting systems, multimedia equipment for special events, and set-up of facilities and equipment. Candidates must be able to set up props and multimedia equipment, possess good communication skills, and be able to follow both oral and written instruction. Preferred candidates will have knowledge of sound systems, lighting, other types of multimedia equipment, good computer skills for operation of ticket box office, and experience with set-up techniques used in special events.

This position requires 20-25 hours per week and will involve evening and weekend work for special events.  Other requirements include, but are not limited to, the following: frequent interaction with others, the ability to lift up to 75 lbs., manage overhead work, carrying, moving, and setting up equipment, and unloading and re-loading of heavy musical equipment and gear.  Climbing, bending, and lifting are essential requirements for this position.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. One year of experience with sound systems, lighting, multimedia equipment, and event set-up is preferred.  The pay rate for the Special Events Worker is $9.07 per hour.
