Spring 2014 Fitness Contests

Are you ready for a challenge? Well, ready or not, here it comes.  We challenge you to make 2014 your healthiest year ever!  To help you get started with setting and reaching your wellness goals, we are gearing up for our spring fitness contests. For double the fun, you can join us for BOTH of these contests if you wish.

ASUMH Biggest Loser

We will start this contest on Monday, February 3rd. Instead of large teams, this time we will have partners – teams of two.  If you are ready to get serious about losing a few lbs, get connected with someone who has the same goals, and get ready to become losers.

Ruth Ann Harp, our BCBS contest facilitator, will be on campus for weigh-ins on the following dates.

Contest Schedule:

1st Weigh-in - Monday, February 3rd from 12:00-1:00

2nd Weigh-in - Monday, March 3rd, from 12:00-1:00

3rd Weigh-in - Monday, March 31st from 12:00-1:00

Final Weigh-in - Monday, April 28th from 12:00-1:00

Weigh-ins will be the mailroom of Roller Hall.

The registration fee is $5 per person and weigh-in fees will be the same as the last contest.  Here is a copy of the Rules and Regulations, along with the Registration Form.  If you wish to participate, come to the first weigh-in with your partner, your registration form, and $5 each for registration fees .

Winners will be determined using the highest % of weight lost during the contest.  The prize will be the cash pot from all the fees.  Our last contest winners won a pot of almost $300!

Blue & You Fitness Challenge

ASUMH is registered for the 2014 Blue & You Fitness Challenge where we compete against other Arkansas organizations and businesses for cardio dominance.  The contest begins March 1st and ends May 31st. The goal of the contest is to log at least 30 checkpoints, and a checkpoint is achieved by doing at least 30 minutes of cardio activity.  The contest and the website for logging checkpoints have been improved.  You can now earn more than one checkpoint per day depending on the type and intensity of the cardio activity you participate in.

Registration must be complete before February 28th.  The group code is ASUMHThis will be an individual competition – no teams or partners.   All participants who achieve the contest goal of 30 checkpoints will receive a prize (yes, for real).
