        • When updating the student’s tax information, it is highly recommended that the IRS Data Retrieval Tool be used.
        • Click here for an explanation of how to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.
        • All changes made to the FAFSA online require the use of a Federal PIN number available at http://www.pin.ed.gov. Making changes to a dependent student’s FAFSA online requires both the student and parent to use separate Federal PIN numbers. Federal PIN numbers should be stored in a safe place for future use.
        • Allow 10 days to two weeks for the student’s status to update in our system after corrections have been submitted at http://www.fafsa.gov.
        • Each update to a FAFSA can result in a request for additional information.
