About This Program

There are people out there with the ability to bring order and clarity to chaotic situations.  They are always thinking three steps ahead, and can often offer a solution before a question has been asked.  Although they don't mind taking risks, they don't necessarily seek the spotlight, but will gladly accept credit when it is due.  If you like to work puzzles and solve problems or organize and arrange things in proper order, Business Administration may be the academic major for you!

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE AND OTHER TYPES OF DEGREES?

When choosing the business degree that is right you, it is important to understand the different options available to you. The Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration is designed for those who plan to enter into the workforce upon completion of the two-year program of study. While many of the courses will transfer to other universities, it is not guaranteed. There are careers and job offerings that only require this level of education. The focus in the Applied Science program is on building the required skills needed to be successful in the workplace. If you are looking to improve your skills and get a better job, but are not interested in the commitment of a four-year college experience, the Associate of Applied Science might be the option for you.

ASUMH also offers an Associate of Science in Business for those students who wish to continue their education by pursing a bachelor’s (four-year) degree. Information on the business transfer degree can be found at Business | Arkansas State University | Mountain Home, AR (asumh.edu).

Credentials:

The AAS in Business Administration can provide training that prepares you for industry recognized certifications in QuickBooks and Project+.

Academic Agreements:

Any student who has earned the Associate of Applied Science at ASUMH may be admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Supervision at ASUJ in either the on-campus or A-State Online program with full junior classification, subject to completing the admission requirements for Arkansas State University.

DEGREE CHECKLIST
Transferable Degrees & Stackable Credentials
Transferrable degrees are programs of study that allow students to complete general education courses. Many students who intend to transfer to another college/university complete these degree programs.
Stackable Credentials are Technical Certificates that might be “stacked” to meet requirements for a higher-level certificate or degree program like an associate's degree.
