CINAHL® with Full Text - A rich collection of full text for nursing & allied health journals, providing full text for more than 610 journals indexed in CINAHL®. This authoritative file contains full text for many of the most used journals in the CINAHLindex, with no embargo. Full-text coverage dates back to 1981.


CQ Researcher - A database of in-depth, authoritative reports on a full range of political and social-policy issues extending back to 1923. Each report is footnoted and includes an overview, background section, chronology, bibliography and debate-style pro-con feature, plus tools to study the evolution of the topic over time.


Ebook Central on ProQuest - Collection of more than 40,000 full-text multidisciplinary eBook titles trusted by community, further education, technical, and vocational colleges around the world. The collection offers high quality titles from renowned publishers and University Presses including AMACOM, Ashgate Publishing, Bloomsbury, Cengage Learning, Jessica Kingsley Publishers, Oxford University Press, Packt, Palgrave, Wiley, and others.

FirstSearch - Use to find books, articles, films, computer software, and other types of material on the subject needed.


GreenFILE - Offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government, and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 384,000 records, as well as Open Access full text for more than 4,700 records.


JSTOR - A multidisciplinary full-text scholarly journal archive that offers back issues of journals, some as far back as the 1800s. As JSTOR's main focus is archiving scholarly journals, you generally will not find the most current issues of journals here, but you will find articles from older issues of journals that may not be available in other databases. The library currently subscribes to the following archival collections: Arts & Sciences I, V, VII.


Mango Languages - An online language-learning system that can help you learn languages like Spanish, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Mandarin Chinese, Greek, Italian, Russian, and more. PrepSTEP / LearningExpress -  A comprehensive selection of academic and career-related resources. It features skill-building tools for reading, writing, math, and science, as well as test preparation for high school equivalency and college admissions exams. Science Online (Infobase) - Contains extensive information on the full spectrum of scientific disciplines in a variety of useful formats, including printable diagrams, illustrations, experiments, images, videos, and flash animations. The content is organized by subject area and type of resource, and state and national education standards, as well as STEM Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards.

World Book Advanced - A reference tool that includes an encyclopedia, multimedia, e-books, and primary source databases all fully integrated in a single search interface.

Database Tutorial

The library offers a free, non-credit library database tutorial available via Blackboard for any student enrolled at ASUMH. It features PowerPoint presentations on how to use library databases, short quizzes to help you master the content, and printable help sheets. Students are automatically enrolled in this “Information Literacy” tutorial when they are assigned an ASUMH Blackboard account.

Admission acceptance status made at application due date is contingent on final grades.
Important Disclosures about the Program and the Funeral Service Industry
I understand the program has a specific course rotation that I am required to follow each semester.
I understand that all Funeral Science Education curriculum course work must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.
I understand that I must maintain a 2.5 GPA and will only be allowed to retake courses from which I withdrew or failed in the first semester upon admission to the program.
I understand that I am responsible for any costs associated with the program including field trips and Training Camp.
I understand that it is my responsibility to know the licensing requirements for any state in which I intend to practice.
I understand that students who have previously been convicted of a crime may be restricted from certain clinical facilities and may be ineligible for some state licenses.
I understand that students who have a physical disability should contact the state in which he/she plans to seek licensure to determine if the disability will affect licensure.
I understand that a current driver’s license is required prior to enrolling in a clinical or practicum course.
I have read and understand the program dismissal policies contained within the Funeral Science Student Handbook.
