Students Earn Industry Certifications in Computer Information Systems

Graduates with an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Technology and Networking degree from Arkansas State University – Mountain Home, Cody Partee, Alex Hart, and Dustin Niswonger earned their industry-recognized certifications. Partee, Quality Information Systems Analyst II with Baxter Healthcare secured the CompTIA Server+ and CompTIA DataSys+ certifications. Hart (not pictured), Tier 2 Technical Support Agent at Sebastian Tech Solutions, obtained the CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Security+ certifications. Niswonger, an independent consultant, earned the CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Server+ certifications.
Graduates with an Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity degree from Arkansas State University – Mountain Home, Bryce Landsbury and Nathaniel Rogers, earned their industry-recognized certifications. Landsbury, retail associate with UPS, earned the CompTIA A+ certification. Rogers, Network Technician at Yelcot Communications, attained the CompTIA Network+ certification.
Kerry Bennett (not pictured) graduated with an Associate of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences in Cybersecurity and earned the Cisco Certified Support Technician – Cybersecurity and the Cisco Certified Support Technician – Networking certifications. He plans to transfer to the University of Central Arkansas and pursue his 4-year degree in Cybersecurity.
Joseph Oberbeck (not pictured) received the Cisco Certified Support Technician – Cybersecurity and the Cisco Certified Support Technician – Networking certifications and plans to complete the Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity degree in the fall.
With advances in technology, the demand for skilled network and computer support professionals continues to grow. Attaining an industry certification is a valuable credential to help start or enhance a career in the Information Technology field. By combining the Computer Technology and Networking degree or the Cybersecurity degree with an industry-recognized certification, students can increase their employment potential.
