ASUMH's Bailey Hutcheson Honored as Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund Distinguished Alumna
JUNE 17, 2026

MOUNTAIN HOME, AR. — Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) Director of Career Pathways Bailey Hutcheson has been recognized as the 2026 Distinguished Alumna by the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF), an honor awarded to former scholarship recipients who have demonstrated professional achievement, leadership, and a commitment to helping others succeed.
For Hutcheson, the award represents more than a professional accomplishment—it reflects a journey that began years ago as a student and single parent determined to create a better future for her family.
Like many non-traditional students, Hutcheson balanced the demands of raising a child while pursuing her education. Financial challenges, family responsibilities, and the pressures of college coursework could have easily stood in the way. Instead, with determination, support from ASUMH, and assistance through the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund, she persevered and earned her degree.
Today, Hutcheson has come full circle. As Director of Career Pathways at ASUMH, she helps students identify educational opportunities, develop career goals, and connect with resources that can lead to meaningful employment and long-term success.
Beyond her formal role, Bailey goes above and beyond in service to both students and colleagues. She serves in multiple roles on Shared Governance Committees, volunteers with the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund, and is an active member of two Special Projects Committees on campus. She also produces our weekly Power of the Parliament TEAMS meeting, which strengthens communication and engagement across campus. In addition, Bailey shares her expertise as a presenter at the Title III Summer Conference, further demonstrating her leadership and dedication to service.
Her story serves as an inspiration for current and future students, especially those who may believe that family responsibilities, financial challenges, or a non-traditional path make higher education unattainable.
Please join us in congratulating Bailey for this recognition of her personal and professional successes!
