ASUMH EMS program receives donation from Baxter Health and Baxter Health Foundation for rural EMS project

MAY 31, 2023

The Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department is excited to announce the receipt of a $2,500.00 donation from the Baxter Health Foundation and Baxter Health. This generous donation will help to fund the Rural Community EMS project with the goal to increase the number of certified and licensed emergency responders in rural communities. This allows for a continuum of quality of care from the initial response through the necessary emergency care to improve the outcomes of our communities.

During the Rural Community EMS eight sessions, participants will learn the basics of CPR, cardiac arrest, trauma and medical emergencies care, and emergency scene management. Upon completion of the program, participants will be eligible for the National Emergency Medical Responder certification and provide the required continuing education for the Emergency Medical Technicians working in area rural Communities.

Through the collective efforts of Baxter County Fire Chiefs Association, ASU-Mountain Home, Baxter Health EMS, AirEvac 12 Mountain Home, and the generous donation from the Baxter Health Foundation, this program is free of charge for participants.
