ASUMH WINS FOUR MEDALLION AWARDS FOR COLLEGE MARKETING

The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) honored Arkansas State University-Mountain Home with four Medallion Awards at its regional conference held in Santa Fe, New Mexico recently.

ASUMH’s Communications and Marketing team won a gold Medallion award in the TV/PSA Advertisement category for its 30-second commercial titled 3 Rivers, 2 Lakes, 1 Great Education. The team accepted bronze for its Video Shorts entry, College Promotional Brand Video entry, and Successful Recruitment or Marketing Program. The entry for Successful Recruitment or Marketing Program featured a Viewbook and other marketing materials that showcase the natural resources of the area along with the attributes of ASUMH in a campaign titled ASUMH: The Natural Choice.

“These awards are a tremendous honor. The Medallion Awards are the only regional competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges within our six-state district,” stated Christy Keirn, Director of Communications and Institutional Advancement at ASUMH. District 4 covers Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.

The winning video projects were developed as a collaborative effort between ASUMH’s in-house marketing staff and the creative team at VisionAmp Marketing of Mountain Home. VisionAmp created the three video shorts to assist the college in recruiting non-traditional students into healthcare, technology and business programs. In addition, they assisted the college in developing a two-minute college brand video and a 30-second television commercial.

“Video is an amazing supplement to marketing strategy. Just for example, video on a website increases user time by up to two minutes. That’s two minutes to tell your story in a captivating and engaging way that images and text just can’t do,” says James Moore, co-owner of VisionAmp and videographer. “We have had tremendous success with our video, helping grow our client’s online presence and generating more interest and leads. We loved working together with ASUMH to create videos that tell their unique story and showcase their beautiful campus.”

VisionAmp Marketing is a full service marketing agency in Mountain Home, Arkansas with an impressive portfolio of over 600 website builds in ten years and 200 monthly marketing clients they service. Video production has become a big part of business for VisionAmp, and they work with numerous clients to produce video assets for websites, television commercials, social media advertising, and training and instructional purposes.

ASUMH.EDU EARNS REGIONAL WEBSITE AWARD FROM NCMPR

The District 4 National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) recently recognized Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) as a 2015 Medallion Award recipient for outstanding achievement in communications. The college earned a Bronze award for the school’s redesigned website, ASUMH.edu, launched fall 2015.

District 4 of the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations is comprised of two-year colleges and technical schools within a six-state region that includes Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.

“We are honored to be recognized by NCMPR for this award. The Medallion Awards are the only regional competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges within our six-state district,” stated Christy Keirn, Director of Communications & Institutional Advancement at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home.

The website was developed as a collaborative effort between ASUMH’s in-house programming staff and the digital design team at Brooks Jeffrey Marketing, Inc. of Mountain Home.

Brooks Jeffrey created the responsive web design for ASUMH and assisted the college in programming and integrating the site’s information architecture and framework. The new, responsive web design allows the site to automatically adjust for optimal display based on the device and screen size used to view the site: desktop, laptop, tablet or smart phone. Responsive web design enhances the user’s experience by repositioning the website content for easy access, adjusting the layout to fit the screen size.

The programming staff at ASUMH utilized the design and framework supplied by Brooks Jeffrey to build the site, while integrating ASUMH’s existing content management system and third-party educational software systems.

“Our website is an important communications tool. It serves as an information hub for our campus and our community. In redeveloping the website, we understood the importance of creating a useful, effective solution that addresses our current needs, as well as one that could easily accommodate future growth. Brooks Jeffrey assisted us with this task to ensure the new website accommodates the ever-growing digital demands of our students, staff and community,” Keirn explained.

“Redesigning the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home website was an important project for Brooks Jeffrey. Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of assisting ASUMH with a number of projects, including creating the college’s logo brand. Designing the new, responsive website for ASUMH allowed us to expand the college’s brand on a global scale. Brooks Jeffrey’s design and digital teams are honored to have assisted ASUMH with this award-winning website,” said Jodie Elizabeth Jeffrey, Senior Account Executive, Brooks Jeffrey Marketing, Inc.
