Job Description
Position Overview:
The Student Activities and Retention Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the overall student experience at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) by organizing and facilitating a wide range of social, cultural, recreational, and educational programs and events. With student activities being at the heart of student life, this position carries the responsibility of engaging students in fun and creative ways. The Student Activities and Retention Coordinator supports student clubs and organizations in whatever capacity is needed. In addition, this position is central to student retention efforts, providing personalized support to help students persist and succeed at ASUMH. The coordinator will build strong relationships with students and offer guidance, resources, and referrals to support both academic success and overall well-being.
Qualifications:
· Associates degree, or equivalent experience resulting in broad knowledge of a field related to the job, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience in higher education preferred.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service to students, ASUMH employees, and campus visitors.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Compensation includes an annual salary commensurate with background and experience, and a comprehensive benefits and leave package.
