About This Program
The objective of the Associate of Science in Education degree is to allow students to complete the first two years of an education baccalaureate degree. Students in the middle-level track of the ASE degree will choose two areas of emphasis from the following list: math, science, social studies, and language arts.
Completion of a baccalaureate degree in education, along with passing required licensure tests, certifies that you can be a teacher in mid-level education in your two chosen areas of emphasis. An Associate of Science in Education graduate can obtain the Bachelor of Science in Education Middle-Level Education from Arkansas State University–Jonesboro while staying on the ASUMH campus or can transfer to another four-year university. A 2.70 GPA is required for graduation from the ASE program.
