About This Program

Computer Technology and Networking develops practical skills for troubleshooting, monitoring computers and networks, and ensuring the integrity of devices and data. Network and computer support professionals are global problem solvers that connect people, places, and things with digital networks. If critical thinking, complex problem solving, collaboration, and hands-on practical application of skills sound exciting and challenging, Computer Technology and Networking may be the program for you!

The Associate of Applied Science in the Computer Technology and Networking is flexible to accommodate student schedules. It prepares graduates for entry-level employment and advancement in the computer and networking technology industries. Students receive a comprehensive and integrated foundation of networking topics, computer operations and cybersecurity, as well as, general education. The curriculum prepares students for several internationally-recognized industry certifications, which combined with a degree, can increase a student’s employment potential and provide more options for career advancement.

ASU-Mountain Home also offers the Cisco Networking Academy <> for individuals interested in learning networking skills and preparing for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) industry certification exam. The Cisco Networking Academy curriculum delivers a comprehensive learning experience to help students develop the foundational information and communication technology (ICT) skills needed to design, build, and manage networks, along with career skills such as problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and team work. Students complete hands-on learning activities working with Cisco’s state-of-the-art equipment and network simulations to develop practical skills that will help them fill a growing need for computing and networking professionals around the world. The program can also serve as the cornerstone of the two-year degree.

ASU-Mountain Home is an authorized CompTIA Academy Partner and offers the A+ Computer Technician program <> to help individuals prepare for the CompTIA A+ industry-recognized certification and entry-level computer career opportunities. Earning an A+ industry certification confirms a technician's ability to demonstrate various computer hardware and software skills such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, repairing, preventive maintenance, mobility, and security. The CompTIA A+ certification is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors, and resellers.

The A+ Computer Technician program and the Cisco Networking Academy are integrated within the Computer Technology and Networking degree or can function as stand-alone programs.

Admission acceptance status made at application due date is contingent on final grades.
Important Disclosures about the Program and the Funeral Service Industry
I understand the program has a specific course rotation that I am required to follow each semester.
I understand that all Funeral Science Education curriculum course work must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.
I understand that I must maintain a 2.5 GPA and will only be allowed to retake courses from which I withdrew or failed in the first semester upon admission to the program.
I understand that I am responsible for any costs associated with the program, including field trips and any required visits to the Mountain Home campus.
I understand that it is my responsibility to know the licensing requirements for any state in which I intend to practice.
I understand that students who have previously been convicted of a crime may be restricted from certain clinical facilities and may be ineligible for some state licenses.
I understand that students who have a physical disability should contact the state in which he/she plans to seek licensure to determine if the disability will affect licensure.
I understand that a current driver’s license is required prior to enrolling in a clinical or practicum course.
