Computer Technology and Networking develops practical skills for troubleshooting, monitoring computers and networks, and ensuring the integrity of devices and data. Network and computer support professionals are global problem solvers that connect people, places, and things with digital networks. If critical thinking, complex problem solving, collaboration, and hands-on practical application of skills sound exciting and challenging, Computer Technology and Networking may be the program for you!
The Associate of Applied Science in the Computer Technology and Networking is flexible to accommodate student schedules. It prepares graduates for entry-level employment and advancement in the computer and networking technology industries. Students receive a comprehensive and integrated foundation of networking topics, computer operations and cybersecurity, as well as, general education. The curriculum prepares students for several internationally-recognized industry certifications, which combined with a degree, can increase a student’s employment potential and provide more options for career advancement.

The Cisco Networking Academy curriculum delivers a comprehensive learning experience to help students develop the foundational information and communication technology (ICT) skills needed to design, build, and manage networks, along with career skills such as problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and team work. Students complete hands-on learning activities working with Cisco’s state-of-the-art equipment and network simulations to develop practical skills that will help them fill a growing need for computing and networking professionals around the world. The program can also serve as the cornerstone of the two-year degree.

Earning an A+ industry certification confirms a technician's ability to demonstrate various computer hardware and software skills such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, repairing, preventive maintenance, mobility, and security. The CompTIA A+ certification is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors, and resellers.

Transferable Degrees
>Any student who earns the Associate of Applied Science at ASUMH may be admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Supervision at ASUJ in either the on-campus or A-State Online program with full junior classification, subject to completing the admission requirements for ASUJ.
