Your career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Paramedic has been fulfilling and now you are ready to take the next step – registered nursing. The ASUMH PN/Paramedic to RN Bridge program is designed specifically for those currently working in healthcare. Classes meet one evening (starting at 4:00pm) per week and clinicals are one day per week for 8 – 12 hours depending on the clinical location. The program meets the requirements of the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and has received full approval by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher and complete all nursing courses with a “C” or higher to graduate and be eligible to apply for the National Council of Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). There is no advanced placement in this program.
**Statement from the Arkansas State Board of Nursing
Except as provided in subdivision (l) (1) of this section, in the Arkansas State Nurse Practice Act, a person shall not be eligible to receive or hold a license issued by the board if that person has pleaded guilty or nolo contendere to or has been found guilty of any of the offenses by a court in the State of Arkansas or of any similar offense by a court in another state or of any similar offense by a federal court as found in the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act section 17-87-312.
Arkansas State University Mountain Home nursing programs meet the minimum requirements for approval by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
