About This Program
A Technical Certificate in Machining prepares students for employment in a diverse array of high-paying career fields. Machinists are extremely skilled, dynamic craftsmen and women that make every industry possible through their knowledge of metallurgy, blueprint reading, metal removal processes, precision measuring and inspection, fabrication, mathematics, tolerances, machine setup and maintenance, and programming, among countless other attributes. With the proper equipment and training, a skilled machinist make any mechanical device or tool in existence, which provides not only endless employment opportunities, but also the satisfaction of being at the cutting edge of technology.
ASUMH offers a certificate of proficiency that focuses on manual machining and a technical certificate that adds computer numerical control set-up, programming, and operations.
