Job Description
ASUMH seeks qualified applicants for the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs position. The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) serves as the chief student affairs officer, providing strategic leadership and oversight for a wide range of programs and services that support student success, engagement, and well-being. Reporting directly to the Chancellor, and as part of the Chancellor’s Executive Cabinet, the Vice Chancellor collaborates with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to create a vibrant campus community that fosters academic achievement, personal development, and student retention. The Vice Chancellor oversees a diverse team and portfolio of functional areas aimed at enhancing the overall student experience and promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, or a related field required; doctorate preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in student affairs, preferably in a community college or higher education setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of student development theories, best practices in student affairs, and regulatory compliance issues.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to supporting diverse student populations, with the ability to promote a welcoming and supportive campus environment for all students.
- Experience with budget management, strategic planning, and data-informed decision-making.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, student services software, and technology solutions. Banner / Ellucian experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate complex issues, and adapt to changing environments.
- Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and accreditation standards governing student affairs and higher education administration.
- Alignment with the chancellor’s vision and goals for a highly productive executive leadership team.
Compensation includes an annual salary commensurate with background and experience, and a comprehensive benefits and leave package.
