Dean of Students
Job Description
ASUMH seeks qualified applicants for the Dean of Students position. The Dean of Students at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) is a senior administrative leader responsible for providing vision, direction, and oversight for student services and programs that support student success, engagement, and well-being. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Dean of Students collaborates with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to create a supportive and inclusive campus environment that fosters academic achievement, personal development, and student retention. The Dean of Students leads a team of professionals responsible for a range of student-centered programs and services.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in higher education administration, counseling, student affairs, or related field required.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs or related areas, with at least three years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of student development theories, best practices in student services, and trends in higher education.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, student services software, and technology solutions. Banner / Ellucian experience preferred.
- Experience in program development, assessment, and continuous improvement.
- Commitment to serving a diverse student population and building an inclusive environment, with the ability to foster a welcoming and supportive campus climate for all students.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing environments, and lead teams in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
Compensation includes an annual salary commensurate with background and experience, and a comprehensive benefits and leave package.
