Job Description
ASUMH seeks qualified applicants for The Dean of Business, Arts, and Sciences position. The Dean of Business, Arts, & Sciences at Arkansas State University Mountain Home (ASUMH) serves in a key leadership role responsible for fostering communication between faculty and administration, providing essential administrative support to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and promoting cohesion among the faculty within the Business, Arts, and Sciences School. This position is crucial in ensuring academic excellence, facilitating dialogue and cooperation, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance academic programs and foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a discipline within the School of Business, Arts & Sciences required. Doctorate preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience as a faculty member in a discipline within the School of Business, Arts & Sciences, ideally within a community college setting. Demonstrated experience in academic administration, including leadership roles in projects aimed at enhancing curriculum development, student engagement, or institutional effectiveness, is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to supporting diverse student populations, with the ability to promote a welcoming and supportive campus environment for all students.
- Experience with budget management, strategic planning, and data-informed decision-making.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate complex issues, and adapt to changing environments.
- Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and accreditation standards governing academic affairs and higher education administration.
Compensation includes an annual salary commensurate with background and experience, and a comprehensive benefits and leave package.
