OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR
The Office of the Registrar is responsible for academic and classroom scheduling, student enrollment, registration, grading and academic records maintenance, monitoring undergraduate general education requirements, degree awarding, course evaluations, veterans benefits, FERPA compliance, and transcript services. These responsibilities, assignments and services are completed within institutional policies and standards as well as related state and federal laws and regulations.
ASUMH is updating its course numbering system starting with Fall 2026. This is part of a statewide effort led by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE) to make it easier for students to transfer credits between Arkansas colleges and universities.
What's changing?
- All courses will move from a four-digit number to a five-digit number.
- Example: ENG 1003 Composition I will become ENGL 10103.
- Some departments will also have new four-letter prefixes.
- Example: Political Science will change from POSC to PLSC.
What's NOT changing?
- Your credit hours
- Your degree plan
- Your graduation requirements
Only the course numbers and some prefixes will look different. Everything else about the course stays the same. Same name, same description of the course. You will start seeing these changes soon in places like Banner and DegreeWorks. When you register for Fall 2026 classes, the new course numbers will already be in place. If you have questions, please reach out to your adviser.
These forms must be signed by an Advisor, Instructor, or Dean and hand delivered or emailed from an instructor's school email.
Grade Change Form - Used to change a student's official grade on their transcript.
Course Incomplete Form - Notification to the Registrar of an Incomplete grade. Failure to complete the course within the subsequent term will result in a final grade of 'F'.
Request for Additional Hours - This process facilitates a credit hour overload request for students seeking to enroll in units beyond the standard term allowance.
