LEAD WITH PURPOSE

College is about more than earning a degree, it's about discovering who you are, building confidence, and developing the leadership skills that will serve you for the rest of your life. At ASUMH, every student has the opportunity to lead. Whether you're representing your classmates through Student Government Association, attending statewide leadership conferences, organizing campus events, or simply stepping outside your comfort zone, you'll find opportunities to grow as a leader while making a difference on campus and in your community. We believe that leadership isn’t about having a title, but rather about making an impact.

Leadership experiences help you build skills that employers, universities, and communities value. At ASUMH, leadership opportunities help you develop:

  • Communication skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Professional confidence
  • Public speaking
  • Organization and time management
  • Decision-making skills
  • Service to others

Ready to get involved?

These experiences don't just make your college years more rewarding, but they really help to prepare you for whatever comes next.  You don't have to wait to become a leader. Whether you're interested in Student Government Association, campus organizations, volunteer opportunities, or statewide leadership programs, there's a place for you at ASUMH.  Leadership starts with saying "yes" to new opportunities. Reach out to find out more!

STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION

Be the Voice of Your Fellow Students

The Student Government Association (SGA) gives students the opportunity to shape campus life while developing leadership, communication, and professional skills.

SGA members serve as the voice of the student body by sharing ideas, planning campus events, supporting student organizations, and working alongside college leadership to make ASUMH an even better place for students.

Whether you're interested in serving as an elected officer or simply attending meetings to share your ideas, every student is welcome. Through SGA you'll have opportunities to:

  • Represent the student body
  • Plan campus events and activities
  • Build leadership and teamwork skills
  • Work directly with campus administrators
  • Meet students from across campus
  • Develop experience that stands out on resumes and scholarship applications
