Get the Materials You Need...
Getting ready for class starts with having the right course materials. At ASU-Mountain Home, some classes use traditional textbooks, while others provide free learning materials through Open Educational Resources (OER). No matter which format your instructor uses, we'll help you find exactly what you need before the semester begins.
What course materials do you need? The easiest way to determine which books or materials you'll need is by reviewing your class schedule in Student Self-Service. Once you've registered, you'll use your course information—including the subject, course number, and section—to search for your required textbooks in the ASUMH online bookstore.
Many ASUMH faculty choose to use Open Educational Resources (OER) which provides high-quality teaching and learning materials that are available to students at no cost.
Courses using OER may replace traditional textbooks with free digital textbooks, articles, videos, or other educational resources that are integrated directly into your course. This helps reduce the cost of attending college while ensuring you still have access to quality learning materials from the first day of class.
If your course uses OER, your instructor will let you know how to access the materials, and in many cases they'll already be available in Canvas.
ASUMH partners with eFollett to provide a convenient online bookstore where you can purchase or rent textbooks and course materials for your classes.
Through the online bookstore, you can:
- Search for books by course or section
- Purchase new or used textbooks (when available)
- Buy or rent eligible textbooks and course materials
- Stock up on school supplies and electronic equipment
- Ordering your materials before classes begin helps ensure you're prepared for the first day of the semester.
