Program Overview

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) – Applied Engineering

Mechatronics is a rapidly growing field that integrates electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and computer control systems to create automated manufacturing production systems. This program is designed for students interested in plant maintenance, setup, installation, and assembly. Career opportunities exist in the manufacturing, medical, electronics, agriculture, and automotive industries. Students gain the knowledge and skills needed for employment in laboratory, field-testing, manufacturing and assembly, quality assurance, manufacturing technician, and other related fields. The program uses RoboDK for simulation and offline programming of industrial robots. The program is also offered through the ASUMH Secondary Center.

Technical Certificate (TC) – Advanced Manufacturing

The Technical Certificate builds upon the Certificate of Proficiency by expanding students' knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and computer control systems used in automated manufacturing production systems. Students prepare for careers in plant maintenance, setup, installation, and assembly. The program is also offered through the ASUMH Secondary Center.

Certificate of Proficiency (CP) – Basic Manufacturing

The Certificate of Proficiency introduces students to the basic concepts of electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics used in automated manufacturing systems. It is designed for students interested in exploring mechatronics before pursuing more advanced credentials. The program is also available through the ASUMH Secondary Center.
