Program Overview
Technical Certificate (TC)
The Technical Certificate in Professional Medical Coding prepares students for careers assigning standardized medical codes used for billing, reimbursement, and healthcare documentation. Students learn to accurately translate diagnoses, procedures, and services into industry-standard coding systems while developing the knowledge needed to work in hospitals, physician offices, clinics, insurance companies, and other healthcare settings. The program prepares students to sit for the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certified Professional Coder (CPC) examination.
Certificate of Proficiency (CP)
The Certificate of Proficiency provides foundational knowledge in medical coding and healthcare documentation. Students develop entry-level coding skills while completing coursework that applies toward the Technical Certificate in Professional Medical Coding.
