ASUMH Receives Title III Grant Extension

ASUMH Granted One-Year, No-Cost Extension for Title III Grant

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. — Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) has been granted a one-year, no-cost extension of its federal Title III Improving Institutions Grant, allowing the college to continue building on initiatives designed to improve student success, affordability and excellence in online learning.

Originally awarded in 2021, the $2.2 million grant, known as Project ACTIVATE, has supported ASUMH's strategic efforts to strengthen the student experience from enrollment through graduation.

One of the most visible investments has been the creation of the Student Success Center, a centralized resource designed to help students navigate their college experience and stay on track toward their educational goals. Grant funding has also supported key positions, including an Onboarding Specialist and Supplemental Instruction Tutors.

Through these resources, students can receive assistance with registration, academic advising, career services, study skills workshops, test anxiety resources and academic support programs.

The grant has also helped ASUMH reduce the financial burden of higher education through the expanded use of no-cost course materials. Students can now complete multiple degree pathways without purchasing traditional textbooks.

The one-year extension will allow ASUMH to continue evaluating the outcomes of these initiatives, strengthen successful practices, and develop sustainable approaches that support access, affordability, and student achievement.
