ASUMH’s 15th Anniversary Performing Arts Series Opens Sept. 23 with Artrageous

A seven-show season brings music, art, dance, history and unforgettable entertainment to The Sheid

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. — Fifteen years of exceptional live entertainment is worth celebrating, and Arkansas State University-Mountain Home is doing it with a season filled with music, art, laughter, history and unforgettable performances.

The ASUMH Performing Arts Series will open its 15th Anniversary Season Wednesday, Sept. 23, with Artrageous, a high-energy celebration of art, music and movement. The performance begins at 7 p.m. in the Ed Coulter Performing Arts Center at The Sheid.

Presented by the Haley Cultural Arts Endowment, Artrageous combines live painting, music, dance, theater and audience participation in a one-of-a-kind performance that brings the creative process to life. Artists create vibrant works onstage as musicians perform and dancers engage the audience, creating an energetic experience for all ages.

Tickets for Artrageous are $30 for adults and $15 for students.

"Opening our 15th season with Artrageous is the perfect way to celebrate what the Performing Arts Series has become," said ASUMH Chancellor Dr. Bentley Wallace. "For 15 years, this series has given our students and our community the opportunity to experience outstanding artists and performers right here in Mountain Home. We are proud of that tradition and excited about the season ahead."

The 2026-27 season features seven performances, offering something for virtually every audience — from rock and Motown to holiday music, nationally recognized authors, history and hip-hop, and world-class circus arts.

Following Artrageous, the season continues Friday, Oct. 30, with Smash Mouth at 7 p.m. The multi-platinum band known for hits including "All Star," "Walkin' on the Sun" and "Then the Morning Comes" will bring its signature sound to The Sheid. Tickets are $60 for premium adult seating, $40 for adults and $20 for students. A VIP meet-and-greet opportunity also will be available, with details to be announced.

On Thursday, Nov. 5, Uptown: A Celebration of Motown and Soul takes the stage at 7 p.m., bringing the sounds and energy of Motown and soul music to Mountain Home. Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for students.

The season continues Thursday, Nov. 19, with acclaimed author and food historian John T. Edge, author of House of Smoke, as part of the Gaston Lecture Series. His 6 p.m. appearance is free, although tickets are required.

Holiday favorites Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, sons of legendary musician Ricky Nelson and grandsons of television icons Ozzie and Harriet Nelson, will bring Christmas With the Nelsons to The Sheid on Sunday, Dec. 13, at 3 p.m. Presented by the Coulter Holiday Endowment, the show combines music, family stories and holiday memories, offering audiences a special glimpse into one of America’s most beloved entertainment families. Tickets are $45 for adults and $22.50 for students.

The series resumes Wednesday, Feb. 24, with Jonathan Blanchard: From History to Hip-Hop, presented by the Arvest Concert Series. The 6 p.m. performance is free, although tickets are required.

The season will conclude Sunday, March 7, at 7 p.m. with Cirque Mechanics, presented by Danfoss. Known for combining circus arts, mechanical innovation and theatrical spectacle, Cirque Mechanics will bring an exciting finale to the 15th Anniversary Season. Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for students.

Individual tickets and season tickets are on sale now. Season tickets are $195 for adults and $97.50 for students and include admission to all seven performances.

Individual tickets are available for each ticketed performance. Free performances still require tickets.
