Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) has begun construction on the installation of solar lighting along the James and Sally Moore Recreational Trail, a major enhancement to one of the community's favorite outdoor recreation areas.
The new solar-powered lighting system will improve safety and accessibility for walkers, runners, and families who use the trail during early morning and evening hours. The project reflects ASUMH's commitment to sustainability and community well-being.
The project is being completed in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT), whose funding support made the solar installation possible. While construction is underway, please use caution- if the trail is barricaded, do not cross and please turn around for your safety.
"ASU-Mountain Home is very excited to bring this major lighting enhancement to the trail system on our campus. Thanks to our funding partners at ARDOT, the college is able to bring solar lighting to a large portion of the trail, allowing for improved visibility for our evening and early morning trail users," said Dr. Bentley Wallace, Chancellor of ASU-Mountain Home.
