Spring enrollment at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) continues a climb, with a reported headcount of 1,266 students – an 11% increase over spring 2024. Chancellor Bentley Wallace said the double-digit spring semester growth for ASUMH shows the return on investment at ASUMH.
“We are thrilled with the large increase in enrollment for the spring semester,” Wallace said. “As students and their parents consider quality, value, and return on investment in higher education, more and more they are making ASUMH their first choice.”
ASUMH continues to expand its educational reach, with students attending from nine states. Programs with the highest enrollment include the Associate of General Studies (AGS), pre-nursing, the Associate of Arts (AA), Registered Nursing, Business (Associate of Science), Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Health Professions, Professional Medical Coding, Welding, Automotive Systems Repair, Criminal Justice and Funeral Science.
ASUMH continues to focus on additional ways to improve student retention with the addition of a new Student Success Center on the third floor of Roller Hall. The center offers career assessment tools, interview prep assistance, and resume writing services to students. In addition, the center works on advising and early alert services for students who are struggling in classes. The efforts of certified college career coaches ensure that students who are at risk of dropping out receive support and engagement from ASUMH staff to help them be successful.
