Commencement|May 14, 2020
Greetings,
I am pleased to announce that we have finalized plans for our graduates to receive their diploma or certificate and participate in both a live ceremony and a virtual ceremony. This event will take place on Wednesday May 27th from 10:00 a.m until 2:00 p.m. and also on Thursday May 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We will conduct an evening session for any graduate who could not make it to one of the daytime sessions. This will be on Thursday May 28th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Each graduate will receive a separate email with detailed instructions for the event.
Each graduate will be invited to drive to the Roller Portico, family members may accompany them in the vehicle. The graduate will be allowed to step out of the vehicle in the Portico. Their cap and gown will be ready for them to put on. Once dressed, the graduate will step over to the presentation area, where I will award them their diploma or certificate. This activity will be photographed for use in the virtual ceremony that will be produced. Family members may also film or photograph from the vehicle. The graduate will then reenter their vehicle and will be free to move to another spot on campus for family photos if they desire.
This ceremony will provide a unique experience for our graduates that also conforms to the current social distancing guidelines. Any graduate that is unable to participate will have their diploma available for pickup at a later date to be announced. Once again, congratulations to all of our ASUMH graduates!
Thanks,
Robin Myers
