Arkansas State University-Mountain Home is proud to announce Brandon Barnes as the recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award, honoring his remarkable achievements, leadership, and unwavering commitment to both ASUMH and the Mountain Home community.
A 2014 graduate of ASUMH, Barnes transferred to ASU-Jonesboro where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Today, he serves as a Financial Planner with Edward Jones, but his impact reaches far beyond his professional role.
Barnes is a shining example of the TrailBlazers spirit. He has served as President of the Kiwanis Board, is a past member of the Twin Lakes Future Fund, and actively volunteers for numerous community events and donation auctions. His auctioneer talents have supported organizations such as the ASUMH Truck Party, Cotter and Clarkridge Volunteer Fire Departments, Ducks Unlimited, Pagnozzi Charities, Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, North Arkansas Food Bank, Mountain Home Police Department, local churches, and the Mountain Home Public School system.
In addition to his volunteer work, Barnes is involved in the MHHS mentorship program and sponsors the Student and Teacher of the Month at Mountain Home High School. He’s also invested in the local economy through entrepreneurial ventures like his laundromats, Dirty Drawers, and other community-focused businesses.
Nomination quotes for Barnes speak volumes about his character:
“Brandon gives time, treasure, and talent to the Mountain Home area.”
“He is a business-savvy man with a heart of gold. He is funny, a down-to-earth person, and generous.”
“Brandon embodies Outstanding Alumni. He is constantly giving back to not only ASUMH but the community as a whole.”
“We are proud to call him an ASUMH alum.”
ASUMH is thrilled to honor Brandon Barnes for the lasting impact he’s making both on campus and throughout the region. His story continues to inspire current and future TrailBlazers.
