ASU–Mountain Home Athletic Director Landon Hay is pleased to announce the hiring of Jacob Clary as the new Head Softball Coach for the TrailBlazers! Coach Clary will also serve in an assistant recruiting role for the campus as well as Associate Athletic Director.
Jacob Clary comes to Mountain Home after serving as the Assistant Softball Coach at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. During his time helping to lead the “Swedes,” Coach Clary was part of developing three All-KCAC athletes.
Prior to Bethany College, Coach Clary spent a year at Central Christian College of Kansas in McPherson, Kansas, serving as the Graduate Assistant for the Lady Tigers, where his main responsibilities included coaching the outfielders, infielders, and hitters. Before joining the softball staff, Coach Clary also spent a year as an assistant coach for the baseball program at Central Christian.
Jacob played collegiately at Nelson University (formerly known as Southwestern Assemblies of God University) in Waxahachie, Texas, from 2015 to 2018 as a relief pitcher.
"I am very excited to be the new head softball coach at ASUMH," said Coach Clary. "I am grateful for the opportunity to build this program and support our athletes — to build a culture of growth, teamwork, and excellence on and off the field for TrailBlazer Softball. I want to thank Coach Hay and the administration for this incredible opportunity!"
Coach Clary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Nelson University and a Master’s in Strategic Leadership from Central Christian College of Kansas. Jacob is a native of Sacramento, California.
