Landon Hay has been named head baseball coach and athletic director at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH), according to Chancellor Bentley Wallace. In a Tuesday meeting with players, Hay was introduced and expressed his enthusiasm for working with the TrailBlazers in the coming weeks.
Hay is a native of Lawrence, Kansas, and has been coaching baseball at the collegiate level since 2017. A graduate of Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, Hay began his coaching career at Missouri Southern State University, where he also graduated with his master’s degree. After his time at Missouri Southern, Coach Hay spent time as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. Most recently, Hay has been the head baseball coach at Highland Community College in Kansas, a position he held from January of 2021 to May of 2025.
While Hay was at Highland, the Scottie baseball program saw more than 60 players sign letters of intent to continue their playing careers at the four-year level with 12 of those players signing NCAA Division 1 letters of intent.
Coach Hay and his wife, Becca, have a two-year-old son named Hudson. About the appointment, Hay said, “I am honored and excited to be the next head baseball coach and athletic director at ASUMH. I cannot thank Dr. Wallace and the entire hiring committee enough for this tremendous opportunity. My family and I are very excited to get to Mountain Home and build TrailBlazers baseball and athletics towards a successful future both on and off the field.”
“ASU-Mountain Home drew an outstanding group of highly qualified candidates for the head baseball coach/athletic director position,” said Chancellor Bentley Wallace. “Over 50 applicants from around the nation were vying for the opportunity to lead our teams. Coach Landon Hay has a proven track record of providing exceptional support to student athletes and colleagues at the various institutions he has served. We welcome Landon, Becca, and Hudson to our college and community as we look to a very exciting future for TrailBlazers athletics.”
Hay will begin his work at ASUMH on June 1.
